Nelson Hatanaka DDS

Located in the heart of Hawaii Kai, Dr. Nelson Hatanaka, D.D.S. has provided his patients family dentistry with gentle care since 1983. Dr. Hatanaka participates with HDS, HMSA, and most dental insurance providers. In 2010, he was included in Honolulu Magazine’s Hawaii Top Dentists.

About Dr. Hatanaka

After graduating from Kaimuki High School in 1973, Dr. Hatanaka attended UH and then later USC where he graduated with a BA in Sociology. He graduated from the USC Dental School in 1981.

While his 3 children were growing up he was involved coaching various youth sports teams in such leagues as Hawaii Kai, Wai-Kahala, KAC and Manoa.

Now that his children are no longer in college, he spends his spare time taking his beagle Ziggy to the beach and being commissioner of his friends and family’s various Fantasy Sports leagues.
