  • Yoga Alliance 500 E-RYT/500 RYS/YACEP,
  • Original Hot Yoga Association Level 3
  • Creator/Director of pyroPILATES

The pyroPILATES CORE CONTROL teacher training has been designed to provide teacher trainees with the knowledge required to teach informed classes that focus on the 6 key elements of classical Pilates. While the teacher training for the original pyroPILATES method includes information about High Intensity Interval Training and focuses on creating intelligently designed classes in the original pyroPILATES format, the pyroPILATES Core Control teacher training provides a deeper dive into the basics of the Pilates mat series and how to create lesson plans based on the mat series.

Scope of Study Includes:

  • Anatomy and body mechanics
  • Pilates mat series for beginners
  • Creating effective lesson plans
  • Modifications and amplifications
  • Teaching techniques and methodology
  • Effective use of music

What is pyroPILATES Core Control?

pyroPILATES Core Control is a Pilates based training system that focuses primarily on creating core and total body strength. Instructors use the basic Pilates mat series as an instructional foundation for mindful movement while also providing creative variations for an intense, low impact workout that increases strength, stamina, and flexibility. Core Control classes are set to music and can be conducted in both heated and non-heated environments. The class is fun and fast paced, while simultaneously focusing on body awareness and muscular control. Students enjoy the familiar class format each time they attend but never tire of the series because no two classes are exactly alike.

Missy strongly believes in utilizing knowledge of the body and its movement to guide students through their practice. She has studied extensively with professionals in the field of anatomy and kinesiology and has conducted more than 25 trainings and workshops addressing anatomy and kinesiology as it relates to movement in the yoga room.

She has her master’s degree in education from the University of Florida and is 500 E-RYT and OHYA Level 3. She has been teaching Bikram, Vinyasa, Yin, and Pilates for 14 years and is the founder of pyroPILATES Core Control.
